The News
Microsoft plans to officially unveil its MSN Postmaster Services spam
portal at the E-mail Authentication Summit in Chicago today.
The anti-spam initiative is centered around Microsoft's Sender ID
technology. In an effort to weed out forged sender addresses, the technology
checks whether an e-mail's sender matches the corresponding internet protocol
(IP) address.
AT&T, Yahoo Launch Enhanced Web Mail In Beta
The beta version, which is available to a limited number of AT&T Yahoo Mail
users, includes drag-and-drop email organization, message preview and an
integrated RSS reader for tapping into news feeds, blog entries and other Web
content.
Oregon Man Fined $84K In Spyware Case
Zhijian Chen, of Portland, Oregon was fined $84,000 for scamming users with
bogus security warnings that led them to a phony anti-spyware program.
Google to search inside
business software programs
Google is introducing a new version of its system to trawl for information
locked inside an organization's key business systems, working with software
makers including Oracle Corp., Salesforce.com and Cisco Systems.
Digital River expands European footprint
Digital River expanded its operations to Europe with the creation of two
subsidiaries: Digital River Ireland and Digital River International in
Luxembourg.
